Shared E-Fleet electrifies Potsdamer Platz

Expert panel of politicians and scientists initiates electric fleet model test

Berlin, 29.05.2015: Hands-on e-mobility is what Shared E-Fleet offers for companies at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, a perfect location for sustainable mobility approaches. The electric corporate car sharing research project started its fourth model test phase on Tuesday, May 26th, 2015.

The fourth and final model test takes place under the umbrella of Potsdamer Platz Management GmbH (PPMG). Local companies now have the option to share an electric vehicle fleet with other firms, increasing the workload for the cars, making their use economically efficient. Hendrik Schneider of Yoove Mobility GmbH, who is an advisor to PPMG, sees Shared E-Fleet as an additional offer to business tenants, which will save costs and also alleviate the tense inner-city parking situation.

Following the inspiring discussion, Matthias von Tippelskirch inaugurated the model test in the name of the Shared E-Fleet Consortium, which is headed by Carano. Christian Liebich of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy pointed out that the project is an opportunity to reach out to commercial users, helping the e-mobility topic gain more widespread attention and dissemination.
